MSA was selected to provide land planning, surveying, environmental and civil engineering, and landscape architecture for a YMCA regional camp and family center to serve Suffolk, Franklin, and greater Hampton Roads. New site features include a pavilion, an amphitheater, picnic shelters, an open-air gym, a swimming pool, and an expansion of a small lake already on the site.
Civil engineering services provided by MSA included a major water quality impact assessment of the site, traffic impact assessment, public facilities report, conceptual site layout, civil engineering construction documents, and stormwater Best Management Practices (BMP) retrofitting to solve existing drainage problems.
Environmental services included a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) to determine the presence of Recognized Environmental Conditions. The expansion of the existing lake required the completion of a wetland delineation and resulted in the need for a Joint Permit Application (JPA).
MSA also provided construction phase services, to include coordination with the client, owner, and contractors, site visits, and shop drawing reviews.
